Professor Sir Geoff Palmer

This gentleman is pure entertainment and very knowledgeable in so many ways. His sense of humour had us all laughing and yet his topic is a very serious one, that of slavery. He drew the lines between Scotland and Jamaica caused by the intermarrying especially with the Scottish nobility. He caused a hush and a gasp from the audience when he mentioned the fact that Robert Burns had actually booked a passage to Jamaica with the intention of making his fortune but he never actually boarded the ship. The whole room seemed to be spellbound and found it a most enjoyable experience.
